Q: Can I start with GUTFM or should I take other courses first?
A: You can start with GUTFM if you want the complete synthesis immediately. However, many students prefer to complete 2-3 domain courses first, then take GUTFM as their capstone (it synthesizes everything more powerfully when you have domain depth). Your choice—there’s no wrong path.
Q: What if I want to take more than 6 courses?
A: Great! Additional courses beyond the 6 required count toward your annual CMPE maintenance requirement. Complete 2-3 extra courses and you’ve pre-paid maintenance for 2-3 years. Plus you get CMPE Alumni pricing ($697 vs. $997) on all courses after your first 6.
Q: Are there any prerequisites for specific courses?
A: Only Campaign Optimization Lab requires prerequisites (must have campaigns running + Foundation knowledge). All other courses assume you’ve completed Foundation + Strategic Lab, but no course-specific prerequisites.
Q: Can I take courses before completing Strategic Lab?
A: Not recommended. Strategic Lab is where you apply frameworks to real execution. Taking CMPE courses before Strategic Lab means you’re learning advanced tactics without execution foundation. Complete Strategic Lab first, then specialize.
Exception: If you’re an experienced marketer with proven results, you may be able to skip Strategic Lab and go directly into CMPE courses. Apply for evaluation.
Q: What’s included in “monthly office hours”?
A: Each course has 60-90 minute monthly live sessions with Sue or senior instructors. Bring questions, case studies, or challenges related to that course’s domain. Hot seat coaching, Q&A, and peer learning. Recorded if you can’t attend live.
Q: Do courses ever update or add new content?
A: Yes. As marketing evolves (especially AI capabilities), courses are updated quarterly. You have lifetime access, so you automatically get updates. This is another reason the subscription model (CMPE Membership) was attractive to some—continuous access to evolving content.
Q: Can I get 1-on-1 coaching instead of taking courses?
A: Yes, but it’s separate from CMPE. Private coaching is available ($500-$1,000/hour depending on scope). However, it doesn’t count toward CMPE certification. CMPE proves you’ve completed systematic education, not just bought coaching time.
Q: What if I want to teach these frameworks to my team or clients?
A: CMPE commercial licensing allows you to use frameworks with clients and train internal teams. You cannot certify others as CPEs (only we can), and you cannot white-label or resell the courses. Licensing details provided during CMPE completion.
